Our Plans
Founders have invested $1 million in pre development funds to initiate EWP. They have equipment in Europe sourced and ready to be shipped to Liberia. EWP is open to funders who share our mission to help set precedents in the value chain by driving more benefits to Indigenous Africans.
Pre development activities has initiated sustainable forestry management work in Grand Gedeh. The forests are being assessed and inventoried by EWPs Indigenous partners, with suitable trees identified for harvesting. In order to develop the domestic Liberian logistics chain and workforce capacity, from forest to port, for the first 12 months of operations round logs will be harvested, prepared for export, and processed through the Port of Roberstport?? in Liberia
Sawmill and veneer technology have been identified from factories in Italy and tests have been conducted to confirm the suitability of Liberia species for manufactured products. When fully funded this equipment will be installed in Liberia. It is anticipated that sawmills be be installed in months 12-18 and veneers in months 18-24.
EWP has initiated training and development programs in Grand Gedeh. The intention is to operate with as few ex pats and as many Indigenous Liberian people as possible across all levels of the organization, including management. Governance and planning, structures and processes are being designed and socialized in the host communities.
New precedents that advance the opportunities and beneficial impacts for Indigenous people will be encouraged, analysed and implemented. This philosophy will extend to all aspects of the business, from training through to layers of royalties paid back at higher stages of the product value chain.
This plan integrates economic development, job creation, skills training, and local value addition, aligning with sustainability, community empowerment, and economic growth principles. Successful execution hinges on effective project management, stakeholder engagement, and adherence to environmental and social responsibility standards, including sustainable forestry practices.
